I arrived at the City of Gastonia, NC transit station. Two guys were fighting, a little voice told me to Do Something because one or both could have seriously been injured. I heard myself call out to them to stop fighting, there is enough of us in prison...I repeated and the fight ceased. Each went in separate direction. The coming in my direction said, 'thank you Miss.'
Have you been to Dakar, Senegal? Nov. 26, 2010 was my first visit ... I would do it again! You see, I never meet a stranger and I am eager to learn new things! Upon arrival at the airport, one must claim your baggage. This guy came up to help me with my baggage...he caught me off guard... he says to me, I can get you through customs. He asked me to pay him for his help and do not let anyone see me pay him.Like a dummy, I gave him $20 because I know how hardlife in Africa. $20, one could live it up like a king for a few days. Yep, I got scammed! His friends did not see me pay him,so the ungrateful person asked for more money! I told him no and I should look for my friends -- Dandy & Emmy! That didn't work cause he andhis friends began to follow me. It was dusk dark inthe morning 5:50am, I barely could see and trying to find Dandy & Emmy among all the people tryingto sell stuff ...mainly SMS cards...was impossible. My inner voice was telling me to yell out for them!LOL
One guy said, Felicia....why is this guy saying hername through this fence? Aha, it's Dandy...a sigh ofrelief! Mind you, the guys' friends are close on myheels to get money. Once I reached Dandy, they beganto haggle..when they found out that Dandy & Emmywere Nigerians, they backed off! There's somethingabout being a Nigerian, makes one take notes!Upon entering the city, You will hear the sound systemgo off for everyone to hear that a visitor is coming andit welcomes You! How awesome!Dandy & Emmys' stories:
The Cat People While visiting Goree Island, we ordered fried fishand ate outside. Coco, a shop owners, told me to givemy fish head to the cat...without any questions, I did.Which brings me to tell you about The Cat People! Long ago, the natives of Goree Island would go tothe high priest to be turned into cats so they wouldnot leave the island of No-Return to become slaves.Something happened to the high priest, so the peopleturned into cats, could not be retuned to people again! They treat cats as if they were people! The Goree Island resturant fried fish was great! They don't coat it with flour or cornmeal! Which brings to mind another story... Mermaids! Some believe to this day, mermaids exist! The story goes: at night, the mermaids leave the ocean and is transformedinto the most beautiful women in the world with a brick-house body. They meet men; if the man treats her withrespect, he lives..if he doesn't, the mermaid kills him. I missed two Kodak moments; I made some Jello and fedlittle kids and teens. Most arrange their food in a big bowl. Each person gathers around the bowl with fork or spoonin hand and dive in...this closeness keeps loved ones close. At any rate, I brought out the bowl of Jello and tried to give the kids spoons to eat; instead, they reached out their little hands...they love it and so did the staff! I askedone of the staff members to go with me on the beachto serve Jello. In the far background, the sea is a dark blue then gradually turns into a sea green. The sea gets lighter when it gets closer to the shore with frosty like peaks. We saw teens practicing footballand called out to them to come. One came tried it andcalled to the others; they came. One ask, what is it good for? I told him, with that said, he replied, 'I'm going to be here at same time for more Jello!

There were guys walking the streets 7' and then some, I could not help but stare. One rented a guest house above me. Being so up close to one of these giant men, I had to ask, how tall are you? Wow! He, also, said he was from Sweden!
